Special Mechanical Designs
Nagpur Motors is able to offer special mechanical design in which mountings can be foot-cum- flange, with special flange dimension, with special shaft extension or with shaft extensions on both sides. These can be offered at very short delivery periods depending on the variations. Intermediate size of face mounting in line with the German (DIN) standard is available as regular supply. Motors for Cooling Towers |
These are flange mounted motors with special long shaft and have an “Air-over†design i.e. these are Totally Enclosed Surface Cooled motors designed for cooling by-way of Air from the driven fan drawn over the motors, resulting in effective cooling. Keeping in view the general customer requirements have been frame-wise shaft extensions standardized as per table attached. However, dimensions as per customer’s specific requirement can also be offered. |

Torque Motors |
Nagpur Motors has introduced a series of special motors known as Torque Motors. Unlike, the normal induction motors, these motors have a torque speed characteristic, which is nearly linear, which means from the standstill stage to the full RPM, the available torque reduces almost linearly. This characteristic makes it patently suitable in applications where the speed is required to reduce with the increase in load. For example in winding or calendaring applications, as the buildup of material takes place in the bobbin, the reduction in speed automatically helps in maintaining the linear speed reasonably constant. In addition the motors are amenable to speed control by simple voltage adjustment, thus enabling maintaining of constant linear speed throughout the operation.
Torque motors are also designed to work continuously under locked rotor conditions and thus find applications in machine tools for indexing and clamping and in lifts for door mechanism etc. Torque motors are generally rated on the basis of locked rotor torque in Nm or Kgm or Kgcm. Depending on the application and the range of speed required, the motors are totally enclosed fan cooled or totally enclosed surface cooled.
Nagpur Motors has range of 3-phase Torque Motors from 6 Kgcm to 90 Kgcm Single-phase motors from 1 Kgcm to 15 Kgcm are available from a group concern M/s. SAM Electrical Industries.

Motors for different supply conditions
Standard motors are designed for 415 Volts +/- 10% and 50 Hz +/- 5% supply. Motors for Voltages from 110 to 550 and different frequencies e.g. 60 Hz are supplied regularly. Even 42 Volt motors are offered against specific requirement. Motors for dual voltages / frequencies can also be supplied depending on combinations. |
